After Hours

Julie (tenor), Jo (lead), Jane (bass) and Alison (baritone), all members of the White Rosettes, got together at the end of May 2002 to form After Hours. Since then they have had great fun in putting together a repertoire of songs old and new to entertain their audiences.

Following their debut on home turf, 2003 saw After Hours visiting Preston Red Rosettes, Gem Connection in the East Midlands, entertaining at various local gigs and a attending a fantastic weekend at The Irish Convention where they came away with the Bronze medals in their category and the highest singing marks for the weekend. Later that October, they competed at their first LABBS Convention in Harrogate where they were thrilled, gob smacked & chuffed (as they say in Yorkshire!) to become National SILVER medallists at their first stab at national contest.

2004 promised to be busy and sure was…..They kicked the year off being the guest educators at a retreat weekend with Tyneside Ladies including a scratch quartet tag competition which they not only judged & administrated but mike cooled too! In May they attended the LABBS quartet coaching weekend, which was a great success and enabled them to meet up with their fellow competitors.

Later in May, they appeared with the Grand Central Chorus for an afternoon of fundraising and an evening concert at the very grand venue of Belvoir Castle in the Vale of Rutland, Leicestershire. A highlight of the afterglow was the couple of minutes that brought everyone to a complete silence by the quartet’s rendition of Steve Hall’s arrangement of ‘Catch A Fallin’ Star’.

They were also honoured to be guests at the Friday night show at BABS Convention where they were asked to sing as current Silver Medallists, and in true After Hours style, afterglowed till the early hours of course! Summer came & went and saw them putting on their coaching hats at another coaching weekend with one of the Coventry Ladies choruses Silver Lining. Two full days of coaching and an evening of socialising (where the whole chorus plus partners and us fit in one member’s house!).

They were guests on their own chorus show in Sept 04 before jetting off to Ireland once again to be crowned International Silver medallists! A fantastic weekend was had by all with emotional & funny experiences all round!!

LABBS 04 - After Hours had a fun and fab time in Harrogate, topped off with becoming the national bronze medallists and winners of the Presentation trophy. The quartet competition was certainly a 'competition' in the truest sense of the word.

LABBS 05 - What a competition, After Hours were pleased to come away with the silver medal and are looking forward to Harrogate in 2006.

LABBS 06 - After a very tense competition, After Hours were thrilled to become Gold Medallists.

2007 has been a busy year for the quartet - appearing on many shows and the highlight of their year has been attending BHS International in Denver where they appeared on the World Jamboree show amongst other things.
